Family Resources

Illinois Action for Children is one of 16 Child Care Resource and Referral agencies in Illinois. Through our Family Resources Department we assist families living in Cook County with finding and paying for quality child care.

At Illinois Action for Children we are aware of the many issues facing our families and we understand the various unique working situations that families find themselves in today. We are committed to providing services that are responsive, timely and thorough.

Finding Child Care

Through our referral database we are able to assist families in locating care that is conducive to their identified needs. Our professionally trained and credentialed Consultants are readily available to assist families in their search for quality child care.

Paying for Child Care

Illinois Action for Children is funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) to administer the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The goal of CCAP is to assist low-income families with paying for child care as they strive toward self-sufficiency by working or attending school. Our professionally trained customer service specialists are readily available to provide technical assistance to families seeking support through CCAP.

Teen Parent Project

We recognize the additional hardship teen parents may face as they seek to find balance between teen life itself, parenthood, and school - as such, we offer special assistance to teens in an effort to ensure that Child Care does not become a barrier for them to remain in school. Our professionally trained Teen Parent Consultants are well equipped to assist teen parents in locating and paying for child care.

Contact Us

In addition to our customer service phone line and walk-in services we offer a secure drop box where documents can be submitted. The drop box is owned and operated by Illinois Action for Children. All documents placed in the drop box is subject to the same level of confidentiality and processing operations as those that are mailed, faxed or walked-in.
